Searching the catalog and ordering
Our Africana online catalog contains thousands of titles from almost all countries of the continent and more titles are added regularly.
In the left part of the screen there is a list of countries represented in the catalog. Click a name of the country to view a list of all books available from that country. In addition, the country heading will expand to show dates on which new books were added to our catalog. Clicking a date will display only those books that were added on that date. A maximum of 30 records is displayed at a time. If there are more records to view, you will see FORWARD button at the bottom.
KEYWORD field at the top of the screen allows searches by subject keywords, author or publisher names, date or place of publication and any other word that may appear anywhere in the book record except the title. The pull-down menu to the right displays names of all authors represented in the catalog. Select a name and click the GO button to view all records associated with this name.
To order a book, click VIEW DETAILS and click ADD TO CART button.
To make a purchase, you will have to fill out our online customer registration form. We accept payments by VISA, AmEx, as well as US$ & CA$ check, money order and bank transfer . Payment information is sent through a secure Internet connection. If you prefer not to send credit card information via the Internet or chose a different payment option, select PO (Purchase Order) in Credit Card type menu and type in your order No (can be anything) and date in the credit card No and date fields respectively. . Books ordered by PO will be held for ten days pending receipt of payment. Credit card details can be faxed, sent by mail or phoned in.

Orders are non-refundable unless text is missing or illegible. It is best to order at once since a book that is out of stock is removed from the list and may never reappear. We update our database on a daily basis, but some books will have been sold out during the day.
All African books listed in this database are provided by and sold on behalf of Hogarth Representation, London. They can only be obtained from this Web site. Orders sent to London will not be dealt with.

Additional Information for Institutional Librarians
While only listed issues of periodicals are available in stock, we do accept subscriptions and orders for entire sets of periodicals. We bill each issue when received. We obtain issues only during our book-buying trips, so that there is a small possibility that we may miss some issues.
As mentioned earlier, we accept Purchase Orders. When placing an order, select PO in Card Type menu, enter your PO Number in the Credit Card # field and date in the date field.
Customers having approval and blanket order arrangements with Hogarth Representation or Middle EurAsian Books please note that this database is not designed as a substitute to these arrangements. We do not offer complete selections online, neither are all countries represented and no discounts are available. Librarians interested in setting up a blanket order (no returns) or approval arrangement please contact us for additional information (sign-up forms, conditions, discount schedules, etc.). We can develop a collection profile and supply books meeting any requirements you may have - from simple to very complex. Give us a try!
